Selecting a Web Hosting Company

Let’s assume you’ve followed the advice in my last blog post and registered a domain name.  It is now time for you to set up web hosting for your new domain name.  You may have noticed when you registered your domain name with Cost Cutter Domains that you had the option of purchasing web hosting from Cost Cutter for only $3.95 per month. 

Most likely you haven’t purchased hosting services yet or may not even know why they are needed.  Owning a domain name is not the same thing as having a website.  You will need to host your domain name with a web hosting company and create a website for it in order for the rest of the world to see your domain.  Cost Cutter Domains is not the only service on the world wide web that offers web hosting services.  Two I can highly recommend and use include HostGator.com and Bluehost.com  I’ve been pleased with both companies, but overall Host Gator tends to response much quicker to support questions or problems.  For a mere $7.95 per month with Host Gator or $6.95 per month with Blue Host, you’ll be able to contract all the web hosting you’ll need to promote your Watkins business for a long time.

I’ll cover more about how to set up your domain name once you purchase a web hosting package from one of these three services.  For now, you need to simply look at the web hosting plans and prices for these 3 services and purchase a hosting plan from one of them.  Tomorrow I will begin writing about what to do once you have both your domain name and your hosting service.  Once again, the three hosting services are:
